Gantry Crane Course Overview

Gantry Crane Course Aims

To provide thorough practical and theory training in operating a crane; and also to enable the candidate to competently and safely carry out the role and pass the CPCS Theory and Practical Tests.

This training course is designed for any personnel who are required to use or work with an Overhead Container Gantry Crane.

By the end of the course the successful candidates will be able to carry out a safe pre-shift inspection and be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions and accepted good practice.

Course Content

By the end of the course delegates will be able to undertake and be aware of:

  • Health and safety legislation
  • Accidents causes and prevention
  • Crane/Slingers signals
  • Overload warning systems
  • Pre-use inspection
  • Load assessment
  • Safe working loads
  • PPE requirements

Duration

1 to 3 days depending on experience.
